Allow the potting mix to dry out slightly between waterings. The best way to water an orchid is to submerge the plastic pot in water for about 5 minutes, then let it drain before placing it back in its spot. Water every 7 to 10 days.

Remove spent flower spikes and any dead or yellowing leaves. Once the flowers have completely dropped, cut the stem 2 cm above the second or third bud. This will help redirect the plant's energy towards new growth and encourage blooming.
